LuckyFork LLC ("LuckyFork," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit luckyfork.app, use the LuckyFork app, or sign up for early access.

By using our website or app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways: directly from you when you provide it, and automatically as you use our service.

1a. Information you provide directly

• Account information — your first name, last name, username, and email address when you create a LuckyFork account.
• Waitlist registration — your email address if you sign up for early access on our website before creating an account.

1b. Information collected automatically through app use

• Location data — if you enable location services, we collect your precise GPS location to recommend nearby venues. You may also manually enter locations using Travel Mode. Location access is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time in your device settings.
• Activity and behavioral data — venues and experiences you rate, save, or dismiss; recommendations you accept or swap out; nights you plan and complete; and the choices you make within the app over time.
• Inferred taste profile — based on your activity, we build a personalized taste profile to improve recommendations. This profile is derived from your in-app behavior and is used solely to power the LuckyFork experience.
• Device and usage data — device type, operating system version, app version, and general usage patterns. This data is used to maintain and improve the app.

1c. Website visitors (non-app)

• Standard web analytics such as pages visited, browser type, and general location (country/region). This data is aggregated and anonymous.

We do not collect payment card information directly. If payment features are introduced in the future, they will be processed through a third-party payment provider (such as Stripe), and no raw card data will be stored by LuckyFork.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your LuckyFork account.
• Power personalized restaurant and experience recommendations.
• Build and refine your taste profile to improve results over time.
• Provide location-based suggestions when location services are enabled.
• Communicate with you about your account, app updates, and launch news.
• Improve and develop the LuckyFork product and service.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Retention

Your data is stored securely on our servers and through trusted third-party infrastructure providers. Waitlist submissions are stored via Netlify Forms. App account data is retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@luckyfork.app. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

4. Cookies and Analytics

Our website may use cookies or similar tracking technologies to understand how visitors interact with the site. This data is aggregated and anonymous — we use it to improve the site experience, not to identify individual users.

You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies, though some parts of the site may not function as intended.

5. Third-Party Services

LuckyFork uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Netlify — website hosting and waitlist form storage.
• Google Fonts — font delivery (no personal data stored).
• Unsplash — stock photography.
• Sign in with Apple / Sign in with Google — optional third-party authentication. If you choose to sign in using Apple or Google, we receive only the information those services share with us (typically name and email). We do not receive your Apple or Google account password.
• Payment processors (future) — if payment features are added, they will be processed by a provider such as Stripe. LuckyFork will not store raw payment card data.

6. Your Rights — California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to know — you may request a full disclosure of the personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, and how it is used.
• Right to delete — you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to opt out — we do not sell personal information. You do not need to opt out, but you may contact us to confirm this at any time.
• Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

7. Your Rights — All Users

Regardless of where you are located, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your data.

• Disable location access via your device settings at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

LuckyFork is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly as the app develops and new features are introduced. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the app.
